At Experience the Shore, we recognize that the Jersey Shore is more than a vacation spot and this blog is about more than beach parties and events.  The Jersey Shore is about people, good people who we care about. One of our friends is in trouble.

AN EVENT TO BENEFIT JOHN MCMAHON
(RED BANK, NJ) – The friends and family of John McMahon are hosting an event to benefit John on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at the WINDANSEA Restaurant (56 Shrewsbury Ave. Highlands, NJ. http://www.windanseanj.com from 2pm-6pm. There will be LIVE Music by PROJEX, 5 Course Buffet, Gift & Silent auctions and more. “Dazzle” of Dana Dazzel Productions will be on hand for face painting & tattoos for the children.

McMahon, 51, was raised in Atlantic Highlands and currently resides in Red Bank. The now advertising executive graduated from Red Bank Catholic H.S. and Mt. St Mary’s College. He has two beautiful boys; Cole (9) and Jack (10).

Right after John lost his job (due to downsizing) in late November 2008, he was diagnosed with stage four colorectal cancer the week of Thanksgiving. The cancer was subsequently found to have spread to his pelvic lymph nodes and both lungs. At this time, the tumors are inoperable and he is enduring a very aggressive protocol of chemotherapy treatment.
