Girls Night: The Musical at Resorts Casino Hotel announces special benefit show for Tom Palermo on Thursday, July 26

(Atlantic City, NJ) July 10, 2012 – It’s Girls Night for a cause!  Atlantic City’s newest revue show, Girls Night: The Musical with ONEHOPE Wines will host a special benefit show for Tom Palermo, local resident and active community member, on Thursday, July 26.

Recently Tom Palermo was diagnosed with advanced colorectal cancer requiring surgery and several rounds of radiation and chemotherapy.  Additionally, Tom has an unknown neurological disorder that’s kept him confined to a wheel chair for over a decade, further complicating his illness.  Tom Palermo is a Vietnam War veteran who has three grown children and four grandchildren, who resides in Somers Point, New Jersey and sells realty in Ocean City.  He has been an active member of the community for more than 40 years.

 “We were shocked with the diagnosis, but my dad is a fighter,” said Holly Palermo, daughter.  “My dad has been an active member in the community for as long as I can remember, and it is both humbling and amazing to see the support we are receiving.  Our family is extremely grateful to Resorts Casino Hotel and Girls Night: The Musical for their support and we look forward to a great event.”

“Girls Night is all about having fun and letting loose, it’s about friends and friends help each other out,” said Sonya Carter, director.  “We realized the show can be a great platform to giving back to the community and that is what we want to do to help Tom and his family through this.”

Tickets for the Girls Night: The Musical show benefiting Tom Palermo on Thursday, July 26 at 7:30 p.m. are $45 each and can be purchased through Resorts Box Office or at   All proceeds from the ticket sales will go to Tom Palermo, and each guest will receive a gift card for ONEHOPE Wines at the event.

Girls Night: The Musical opens on Thursday, July 12 in the Screening Room at Resorts Casino Hotel and run through September 1 with shows on Thursday and Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m.
