Meanwhile across the Delaware Bay… Events on the Delaware Shore March – April 2009

We have entered into a friendly relationship with the Delaware Shore.  The Cape May-Lewes Ferry
crosses Delaware Bay several times a day, connecting the Cape May peninsula with the town of Lewes, Delaware. This gives a great excuse to take a boat ride for the an hour or so and see a different Shore for the day.

The Rehoboth Beach Chocolate Festival takes place on Saturday March 7.

  1. Take a guided birding field trip at Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge (just north of Lewes & Milton) on Saturday, March 14th and spot Ospreys and Laughing Gulls.
  2. More daylight to play outside – Daylight Savings Time starts March 8th.
  3. Live Classical Music Performances by The Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra in Ocean View on March 21 and by the Aviv String Quartet at the Coastal Concert Music Series in Lewes on March 28.
  4. Long walks on the beach (bring your dog before April restrictions kick-in).
  5. Seek bargains at the Rehoboth Beach Merchants’ Attic II and General Public Garage Sale (Delaware’s Largest Garage Sale) at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center on March 21st.
  6. TAX-FREE Shopping at World-Class Outlet Centers and Downtown Boutiques and Specialty Shops.
