Tropicana hosts Professional Chefs Association of South Jersey annual President’s Scholarship Ball, February 8 2009

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (January 30, 2009) – Tropicana Casino & Resort announced they will once again host the annual President’s Scholarship Ball for the South Jersey Chapter of the Professional Chefs Association, a member of the American Culinary Federation. The Ball will take place at Tropicana’s Ballroom and will be held on Sunday, February 8 beginning at 5:30 p.m.

“It is an honor to once again host this event,” said Executive Chef Joseph LaPorte. “The event helps to raise money for local aspiring chefs and allows our exceptional culinary team the opportunity to mentor culinary students in the same spirit with which the event was conceived.”

This premier black-tie event recognizes outstanding achievements and raises scholarship funds to make scholarship funds available for members of the community. The event is attended by many restaurant industry leaders and top chefs from the entire Southern New Jersey region.

The Ball features a five-course dinner with dancing and a special guest MC that will present a few awards and recognize the leaders within the program. Entertainment will be provided by local favorite Cheers who will be performing throughout the Ball. This years’ event is themed “A Chef For All Seasons,” and will feature various stations and courses representing each of the four seasons.

More than 100 people will be needed to host the event, including many students from ACCC’s Culinary School who will get first hand experience in putting on an event of this magnitude.

The President’s Scholarship Ball will be held in the Ballroom at Tropicana Casino & Resort on Sunday, February 8 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are still available and are priced at $175 per person. For more information or to by tickets call Chef Willie Lewis at 609.703.9912 or David Goldstein 609.374.6558.
