Tri for Our Veterans…Sea Isle City’s Summer Triathlon

May 24th 2008

The “Tri for Our Veterans” Triathlon, is to be held in Sea Isle City, NJ on May 24, 2008. The three-part race will begin at 7:30 A.M. and will consist of a 400-meter ocean swim, a 12.3 mile (4.1 mile loop) bicycle race and a 3.1 mile beach run.

All proceeds will go to the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund and to Sea Isle’s VFW Post 1963 in their efforts to rebuild the town’s Veterans’ Memorial site.

33rd Annual Antique Show

The Bayberry Twigs Branch of the Cape Regional Medical Center Auxiliary will host their 33rd Annual Antique Show during the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend. This show will feature over 20 quality antique dealers and will open on Saturday, May 24th from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Avalon Community Hall located at 30th Street and the Beach in Avalon, New Jersey. A donation of $3 provides admission into the show.

May 26, 2008 – Avalon To Hold Memorial Day Ceremony, Parade

Avalon will be celebrating Memorial Day on Monday, May 26th, with a very special parade that will begin at 9am. American Legion Post 331, the Cape Harmonaires Barber Shop Chorus, various civic groups, as well as police, fire and rescue from Avalon and Stone Harbor will participate. The parade route will be north along Dune Drive, from 34th Street to the 21st Street Veterans’ Plaza, where the ceremony will take place. Avalon Mayor Martin L. Pagliughi will deliver a message, and approximately 30 Borough of Avalon officials and leaders will participate in a formal presentation of wreaths in memory of those men and women in the armed forces who gave their lives for our country.

David has 30 years experience with New Jersey Pine Barrens species and is an expert in the ecology of this region. David is also recognized as a qualified bog turtle surveyor by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in New Jersey.

Discover the variety of snakes that inhabit our local habitats. Many snake populations have declined and are now threatened or endangered. Wildwoods Convention Center’s Andrews Ave Parking Lot – The Sprint Racing Experience (SRE) creates an interactive event with various elements including: Realistic Simulators, NASCAR Video and a Victory Lane Trivia Challenge.
