Walk with Ronald to Benefit The Ronald Mc Donald House of Long Branch and New Brunswick

The 8th Annual Kids Helping Kids Walk With Ronald” is happening on Sunday, June 1st at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ. The one mile walk will begin at 9AM and give walkers free admission to the amusement park for the remainder of the day.

Walkers under the age of 14 are required to raise at least $50 while walkers 15 & older need to raise $75 to walk and enjoy free entrance to Great Adventure the day of the event. All participants will have an opportunity to meet Ronald McDonald and have access to select rides before the park opens. Registered walkers will also receive free parking. Potential sponsors and walkers can contact the Ronald McDonald House administrative offices at 732-222-8755.

The youngest committee member is Reese Collin, who at ten years old, has six years of volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House under her belt. With the assistance of her mother, Walk Chair Susan Collin, Reese has happily volunteered at the “Kids Helping Kids Walk with Ronald” over the years. Reese has not let her age affect her determination and her spirit.

The Ronald McDonald House of Long Branch was opened in 1987 to provide a “home away from home” for families of children who are ill and undergoing medical treatment. Their sister house in New Brunswick was opened in 2005. Most of the families who stay at the House are from surrounding counties, although families have come from every county in New Jersey, many other states and countries. The House is operated through funds generated by events and contributions from the community.
