The North Wildwood Police Department on behalf of the (M.A.L.E.S.W.) Mid-Atlantic Law Enforcement Survivors Weekend, the Philadelphia Blue Flame and the New York Football Organizations, wish to announce to the public a football game scheduled for Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 1:00 PM, at Maxwell Field-Wildwood NJ.
The Philadelphia Blue Flame and the New York Public Safety are members of the National Public Safety Football League. Each team is comprised of active police officers and firefighters who are playing an official regulation football game open to the general public to benefit the Mid-Atlantic Law Enforcement Survivors Weekend to be held in North Wildwood on September 27-28,2008.
M.A.L.E.S.W. helps support the families, friends and officers along with law enforcement agencies that have suffered the loss of a “Fallen Officer – Killed In The Line of Duty.” The organization includes representation from the state Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington D.C. survivor groups and law enforcement agencies.
Attendance is open to the general public for a small fee of $5.00 and children under the age of 5 are admitted free.
Food and soft drink beverages will also be available.

Biathletes
The Great Causeway Challenge course provides scenic views of the bay and wildlife preserves from Manahawkin to Barnegat Light and back! The Biathlon begins at 9 a.m. at Southern Regional High School with the bike ride along Hilliard Blvd, to Marsha Road, across the Route 72 Causeway Bridge, up Long Beach Blvd. to the Barnegat Light and back to Southern Regional High School where you will make the transition to the 10K run proceeding through the hills and dales of the beautiful residential areas of Stafford Twp., and back to the Finish Line at Southern Regional High School.
Bike Only
Bikers only race will start at 9:15 a.m. and follow the Biathletes’ bike course from Manahawkin to Barnegat Light and back.
Runners Only
The 10K run will start at 9:30 a.m. at Southern Regional High School, proceed through the hills and dales of the beautiful residential areas of Stafford Twp., and back to the school to the Finish Line. The 5K run will start at 9:45 a.m. and follow similar route of the 10K
Throughout the course, hydration, first aid and radio communications will be readily available. Complimentary food and refreshments will be provided after the race for all participants. Award Ceremony immediately follows the event.
DIRECTIONS:
From the Garden State Parkway, take exit 63 East onto Route 72 East. Stay on Route 72 East and exit to Route 9 North. Southern Regional High School will be approximately 1 mile on your left hand side.
From Route 70, take Route 70 East to Route 72 East. Stay on Route 72 East and exit to Route 9 North. Southern Regional High School will be approximately 1 mile on your left hand side.
